Forget everything you ever knew about unicorns . . .

Astrid Llewelyn has always scoffed at her eccentric mother's stories about killer unicorns. But when one attacks her boyfriend—ruining any chance of him taking her to prom—Astrid finds herself headed to Rome to train as a unicorn hunter at the ancient Cloisters the hunters have used for centuries. However, all is not what it seems at the Cloisters. Outside, unicorns wait to attack. And within, Astrid faces other, unexpected threats: from bone-covered walls that vibrate with terrible power to the hidden agendas of her fellow hunters to her growing attraction to a handsome art student . . . an attraction that could jeopardize everything.

Two words…killer unicorns. Can I really say more? I must say Dianna came up with a very unique plotline for her novel. She truly has originality. I have never read a young adult novel about unicorns, much less killer unicorns. I have had this book on my shelf for over a year, but have always been too nervous to read it. I was afraid that the novel would be too cheesy. Now that I have finally read the novel, I am not sure whether or not the novel met my expectations.

The novel had some high points and had some low points.  As I said before the novel is very original.  I was glad to read something out of the cliché paranormal romance genre.  My only major problem with the novel is that I found the story concept to be too over the top at times. Don’t get me wrong there were times when I enjoyed the novel, but there were also times when I found the novel to be a bit cheesy.  I just couldn’t quite wrap my head around the “killer unicorn” concept.

    1. If you can get past some of the cheesiness of the book, its actually pretty good. As I said it's very unique. I found it to be interesting enough to pick up the second book.
